Take it off

Almost a week into my Ibiza holiday and I am quite climatized to the overwhelming blueness of the sky and of the see.
When we decided for this seriously cool destination I was aware that the experience built on other Mediterranean islands was minor league stuff, compared with what we would find here. I was indeed wondering whether I would be up to the game.
As I have said, almost a week into it, I am afraid this is a game I can only observe and chronicle but there is no way that I can compete.
Even common practices (in beach holiday land) like sunbathing topless take here a whole different dimension. I have never been a practitioner of the topless myself, even in much less confronting contests. The phenomenon had never interested me much as it involved the kind of middle aged housewifes that you would probably not want to see topless anyway. Not the case here! My husband has nothing to complain for sure and I have to start paying some attention even against my own will.
Fortunately enough today Nora distracted my slightly irritated considerations by dragging me for a walk on the beach to see some mud baths. Good diversion I thought.
We walked towards the far end of the beach and the environment seemed to change. We saw people walking back completely covered in mud so I was sure we were walking in the right direction.
Suddenly I got it, without realizing we had entered the nudist side of the beach. That became suddenly and interesting landscape!
Not being a sauna customer and having spent all my adult life with the same man I never had the chance to built enough experience to be able to develop a specific taste  on the male attribute, in the way men develop particular taste in female breasts. That made it difficult for me to determine whether what I was seeing was actually worth looking at. That did not stop me anyway, what an unexpected ironic twist in the tale.
It has been said that my prudish attitude towards nudity is driven by my need to conceal my far from perfect features. It might be true, it is indeed a fact that our physical features drive our attitude far more that our attitude can drive our physical features.
There are more than two weeks to go to the end of the holidays and I am seriously wondering what other challenges lay ahead in this interesting island! Stay tuned.
