The Great Christmas Countdown part 4

Christmas Day 8 o'clock in the morning. All the family is asleep except my father and me. Christmas Eve went very well, no Festen effect, thank God. I was not really in the mood for family drama.
The kids were urging us through the dinner because the big pile of gifts was screaming from the far corner of the living room.
Poor little souls they should know that you're not done with the Christmas dinner before a couple of hours.
Nora and Oliver were quite short of gifts, we had applied the policy make it one and make it count. Nora can already read and count so she had realized that even though she had only one gift, against the several destined to her cousins, hers was probably a Big Bang.
The dinner table was populated by the following crowd, my parents, my brother his wife and their two boys and of course me my husband, Nora and Oliver. Oliver was already at his second round because he had actually already had dinner. He was proudly showing his huge belly, competing with my brother.
The chit chatting is hardly worth reporting but the food masterly prepared by my father would deserve a post of its own.
The schedule of the afternoon had been such as to allow my parents to join Holy Mass after cooking and before eating. They came back accompanied by two friends, husband and wife who wanted to see the children and wish us all Merry Christmas. They also felt the need to specify with a tone of surprise in their voice that they found my husband a very charming man. This has happened to me several times before, people kind of expect me having married an ogre, weird, very weird.
Short summary of the evening, we loved the food and the kids loved the gifts. Nora was almost fainting when she saw her space scooter!
I am now resuming my Christmas Day activities, more later and by the way Merry Christmas!!
