The Great Christmas Countdown part 1
This year I am going to try the impossible I will give you a live account of the events leading to Christmas Day. Please forgive me the typos I will have to write as fast as I can.
Seven o'clock and I am already awake checking international news, you never know when a terroristic attack can take place!
After a few minutes I decide that I know enough about international affairs, I have to take my chance to have a shower before everybody is awake. I might not have a second one!
While I shower Nora and Oliver wake up simultaneously, the battle has begun.
We whizz forward to 10:30, while we are playing Christmas songs on the smart tv at full volume (to get in the mood you know) I wave Nora and Dennis goodbye on their way to horse riding lesson. I park Oliver in front of the Teletubbies and it is time to pack.
My brother calls, the package with Nora's Christmas gift is lost on the way from Bol.com to Brussels. Clearly a sabotage from Amazon. I need to call PostNL and try to understand what happened.
An helpful over the phone tells me she has no clue I need to call the Belgian office, the package has already crossed the boarder so it is not their problem. I wish her merry Christmas against all politically correct conventions and I hang the phone.
The Belgian office is of course closed today is Saturday. I call my brother back, he will have to take over the investigation. I will keep you posted.
Packing packing packing I am running out of time. Three outfits each for me Nora and Oliver, Dennis will pack his own stuff. Fortunately I have already done the thinking yesterday so I only need to pick up the right stuff.
Oliver comes in screaming he is hungry of course I had forgotten his banana! Run to the kitchen and while he is at it he also eats two oranges and a sandwich with jam. Probably he will not have lunch.
