The Chronicles of Corona.....sorry COVID-19

Interesting times, everyone is saying, but as you know the word "interesting" means very different things depending on who's saying it.

So if you are non-British and you call these times interesting you probably
  • love working from home when the children are screaming behind you and letting the rabbit loose in the living room
  • abhor social contacts and you rather stay at home
  • believe that the most useful (pretty much the only) cultural source is Netflix
  • rather do not travel, a city like Eindhoven has everything you need
If you are British and/or you are like me, when you say that these times are interesting you probably mean

  • my life sucks at this moment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without even have to say that Domino's has silently increased their prices by a staggering 6.5% (virus profiteers) and that I might anticipate my plan to revert to grey hair by a few years (original plan: @50).

In a moment like this you realize how much you depend on people you do not necessarily think of during your day to day rushing routine. I had not ironed a shirt in a very long time, I am not sure who exactly did that for me, but I want to give this person a certainly long overdue thank you!

There are of course a few positive aspects to this situation, the family life has taken a whole different dimension.
  • Nora got her first smartphone at exactly the right moment and now she is breaking all the records of daily screen usage.
  • Oliver is binging on Youtube, mostly laying on the ground
  • Dennis is desperately trying to fake Corona symptoms, but that is not very easy, not even for him.
But my favorite moment is when I manage to have breakfast with the children even if it is not weekend.

Stay health and stay tuned!
