Day One

Here we are, day one of maternity leave. Hope I am not going to suffer from writers block since I have quite some time in my hands.
Pity that the weather  is awfull, the house is a mess and I have to spend most of the afternoon at an Easter egg search under the rain with a group of overexcited pre-schoolers.

But let's start from the beginning.

Four weeks of government dictated home rest before due date. How civilized you would say, and to a lot of extents you would be right. Thinking of the poor shop girl having to stand all day with a huge belly (which would probably not help at all in enhancing the sales), we would definitely not want her employer to exploit her to the bitter end. But now think about me, desk tiger marketer with an allergy to house chores, where would I be more likely able to rest? Retorical question of course!
This seems an easy to grasp statement but hey, we are in the Netherlands where the place of a woman is 3 days a week at work and 4 days a week at home taking care of the kids.

I think this is enough for an opening post, quite likely it will set the pace for this 16 weeks long journey into pregnancy, poor medical care, limited mobility shopping, bitter sweet family relationships, painful delivery and last but not least the joys of maternity.

If you are curious do not worry, I will keep you posted!
